Crowdy Head has a lovely old lighthouse, and Harrington has a good shipping history/early settlementToday the local fishermen, joined by numerous enthusiastic visitors, fish the waters and bring in good catches of snapper, bream, blackfish and whiting, and this area has good whale-watching as well.Crowdy Head gained national media coverage when a school of False Killer Whales beached themselves down from the old 1895 quarry, and some were assisted back to sea. |
